Alan and his granddaughter
Alan Keir, 1954-2009

Alan became hearing impaired at just three years of age. Although he struggled with deafness throughout his life he was always ready to lend a hand to someone else. He spent years as the National President for Better Hearing Australia. When he had his Cochlear implants his whole life took on new meaning and he never tired of telling his story to anyone who would listen.

Alan had a visit from his Granddaughter from Canada. Isabelle Grace arrived in Brisbane with her Mum Katie and Dad Jon on 31st July. They stayed 9 days to spend some quality time with Alan. Alan had been in hospital at St Vincent Hospital, Kangaroo Point for four weeks. Alan passed away on Thursday 20th August 2009 peacefully.

Alan's legacy will live on through the many people he helped.
